“If you have come to help me you are wasting your time. But if you recognize that your liberation and mine are bound up together, we can walk together.”

I am the founder of Ana Garcia Consulting. I immigrated from Guadalajara, Mexico with my family when I was 5 years old. I grew up in Long Beach, CA and am a first-generation college student. I moved across the country to New Hampshire for a few years after grad school to challenge myself and learn about life in another part of the country. I moved back to CA in 2014. Living in New Hampshire was a life changing experience. It put me far out of my comfort zone and challenged me to learn more about the way our society is intentionally designed to exclude most people; which really ignited my passion for doing work that disrupts those systems and that validates people who are often ignored and rendered invisible. Most of my professional career has been in higher education, where I have worked to support students and colleagues of color and to disrupting the white supremacy culture that prevents us from creating healing spaces filled with joy, rest, and abundance for people who are Black, Indigenous, and other folks of color. I believe that through education, deep self-reflection and accountability we can build capacity to dismantle systems that oppress so many of us. I am unapologetically honest, radically kind, and action orientated. I am a collaborative leader, and believe that holding people’s humanity and dignity is critically necessary to change culture.

I launched this business because I wanted to facilitate learning opportunities for people who are intentionally excluded from accessing information. We are all harmed by oppressive systems, and I want to build collective learning spaces that move us toward justice and liberation, because my/our survival depends on it.

I am an advocate and entrepreneur with a background in academic and career counseling, developing curriculum and facilitating decolonized financial education. I believe that entrepreneurship and a fundamental understanding of the US financial system is the way to build economic liberation to help our people thrive. I look forward to working together!
